Starring Gopichand, the first teaser of ‘Bhimaa’ is out. From the looks of it, the teaser promises to take the audience into a larger-than-life world where religion, spirituality, and divinity play a major role.

The 1-minute-long teaser opens with a baritone that recites a verse from the ‘Bhagwad Gita.’ As the voice is reciting the verse, quick-cut shots of a temple door, a worship place, a sadhu, temple bells, a bloodied axe, and a ritual follow in quick succession. The verse reveals that to get rid of the evil forces, a divine intervention takes place to restore righteousness. The verse reveals that this is a cyclical phenomenon. As the verse draws to a close, Gopichand comes on the screen. He is in a police uniform and is seated on a buffalo.

Take a look at the teaser of ‘Bhimaa’ here.

From the looks of it, the quick-cut shots give you a sense of impending doom and danger. The heavy voice that narrates the verse only adds to the suspense and increases your adrenaline. Gopichand’s entry marks his presence as the divine force who is out to set the balance of the universe.

The teaser of ‘Bhimaa’ makes you think of ‘Kantara.’ But it’s too soon to judge the movie. The blend of spiritual elements with real-life events always makes for a great entertainer. But it all depends on how this has been treated in the movie. The challenge lies in making sure that the movie does not delve into superstition but rather uses that to drive home a much bigger point.

Directed by A Harsha, ‘Bhimaa’ stars Gopichand, Priya Bhavani Shankar, and Malvika Sharma in lead roles. The film has been produced by KK Radhamohan. It is set to release in cinemas on February 16.
