Clarification
Our research agency Synovate informs us that it has wrongly classified and ranked some colleges in Outlooks listing of top professional colleges. IIIT Hyderabad is a private engineering college (revised rank: 2), Sir M. Visveswaraya Institute of Technology, Bangalore, is a private engineering college (revised rank: 13) and BIT, Sindri, is a government engineering college (revised rank: 28) (last edited July 3, 2008 -- SD)

Jun 25, 2008 12:00 AM 6	Its really great to know that any such kind of rating exists! But, BouncingBall, I would like u to please inquire and tell me whether anyone feels that IIT-Kharagpur is 16th! Anyone!! Even students of the colleges in the first 15 ranks. Just a single soul! Even some unheard of colleges figure out in this list. And to think this rating is reliable. Outlook, India Today, Dataquest ratings are far more reliable than this. And I have no qualms about my institute being 20th or 17th. The only issue I have is that before ranking the colleges the surveyers must at least have some knowledge about the institutes. One surely cant categorize a private college amongst govt ones. Well, I am a student of IIIT-Hyderabad and I would like to present some of the glaring mistakes committed: 1.) IIIT-H is a PRIVATE and AUTONOMOUS Institute. We pay a huge tuition fee just because of that. So, for a surveyer who intends to rank colleges across India, it is least expected from him to know whether the college is private or govt. funded. If u dont know that, how can u expect to rate the college?? 2.) IIIT-H has been given a mere 13 points in Pedagogic system rating. Well, do I need to say more? It really seems u made a big blunder. A college having such a low rating( almost all others have above 100 rating) ..I dont have words to say. If this is a mistake I would like you to rectify this and apologise. Else please , the students atleast deserve to know why is there such a low rating for our college. Neeraj Bagdia Hyderabad, India
