Clearly, it was his year. First for Nano -- launched in January, lynched in August -- then for acquiring Jaguar and Land Rover and then, in the last months of the year, for the terror attacks on the Taj Mahal hotel, Mumbai. Nano, the world’s most anticipated mini went through the most contrast of emotions in 2008. Started off with the promise of putting India on the global automotive map and West Bengal on a path of revival. But political maneuvering pushed it to Gujarat and threw its plans astray. Will re-surface in 2009 but can it live upto its Rs 1 lakh tag anymore?
