‘Bandaa’: Manoj Bajpayee-Adrija Sinha’s Film Proves How A Woman’s Willpower And Courage Is Needed To Fight For Justice

A strong man is backed by a woman's support, but a strong woman is backed by her own courage and experiences. Many inspirational women have proven time and again that the stereotypes created to set them back are 'the run-up' that allows them to jump higher in life. The character of ‘Nu’, played by Adrija Sinha, from Zee5's most recent original ‘Bandaa’ is an embodiment of such exemplary courage, determination, and power.

Let's have a look at 5 times ‘Nu’ proved her valour and bravery in the tough times that she had to go through and emerged as a true fighter:

• Nu's parents seek Baba's help for the betterment of her health. Baba exploits their trust under the pretext of care when he molests her. She does not contemplate for a moment before exposing the Baba's true nature to her parents when she tells her mother 'Bhagwan nahi hai woh' and narrates the events of that heinous night.
• When she is defiled by the vicious claws of Baba, she chooses to voice the injustice done to her instead of living a life of silence. Backed by the support of her parents, Nu bravely files an FIR against the self-proclaimed Godman and tells the story of his vile acts.
• As the fight for justice is about to be set in motion, Nu appears to be hesitant. She worries about losing, but with little support from her lawyer P. C. Solanki (Manoj Bajpayee), she is back on her feet rejuvenated with courage. Her chant of 'Har Har Mahadev' with Solanki is a war cry that begins her battle against the self-proclaimed Godman.
• During the exhausting trial, she is repeatedly interrogated by Baba's lawyers with intimidating questions that trigger her trauma. Even the most provocative questions don't scare her, as she stays her ground with determination and reiterates the events from the night of the assault.
• Nu's perseverance knows no limits. She doesn't falter for five long years of the standalone case. When her trial finally concludes in her favour, we see Nu exhale a sigh of relief and satisfaction that she had finally punished her perpetrator.
