Shah Rukh Khan starrer 'Dunki' that hit the screens worldwide on December 21 has remained steady in its collections on Day 10 of its release.
'Dunki' which was released worldwide on December 21 is having a steady run at the box office. The film stars Shah Rukh Khan, Vicky Kaushal and Taapsee Pannu in key roles. 'Dunki' marks Rajkumar Hirani and Shah Rukh's first collaboration. The family entertainer witnessed a slight growth in its collections on day ten of its release. As per a report in Sacnilk, the SRK starrer collected Rs 9.25 crore net in India as per early estimates
On Friday, on Day 9 'Dunki' had earned around Rs 7 crore in all languages. So, compared to the Friday collections, it did well on its second Saturday. With that, the total collection of 'Dunki' stands at Rs 176.47 crore in India in all languages. The Rajkumar Hirani directorial had an overall 28.11% Hindi occupancy on Saturday. It is expected to make a lifetime collection of Rs 200 crore. Let's wait and see how much it collects on December 31 as it's New Year's weekend. It has reportedly earned Rs 340 crore worldwide.
'Dunki' had an opening of almost Rs 30 crore. It saw the lowest opening day collections compared to Shah Rukh’s last two blockbusters, 'Pathaan' and 'Jawan'. The former made Rs 57 crore on day one, while the latter collected Rs 75 crore on opening day in India.
Hirani who has made his comeback after 2018's 'Sanju' is happy with the response of his film. He told PTI, "Of course, commercial success matters to me but I try not to focus on it at all because the moment you start focusing on it, then you start colouring the kind of film you want to make...''.
"I take three or four years to make a film. This time I took five years to make a story. It should be like... let me make this film whatever the fate of the film is. Sometimes you will get a universal audience, sometimes you will get an audience which is in smaller pockets. India is a massive country and there will be all kinds of audiences liking all kinds of films," he added.
Meanwhile, Prashanth Neel's 'Salaar' has crossed Rs 300 crore nett in India.
