'Dunki' is Shah Rukh Khan's third consecutive hit in 2023 after the blockbusters 'Pathaan' and 'Jawan'.

This film marks Shah Rukh Khan and Rajkumar Hirani's maiden collaboration. It has received mixed reviews from critics and audiences. 'Dunki' is based on the illegal immigration. Shah Rukh Khan played Hardayal Singh Dhillon, aka Hardy, Taapsee Pannu played Manu Randhawa, Vicky Kaushal portrayed Sukhi and Boman Irani was seen as Geetu Gulati. The film also starred Vikram Kochhar and Anil Grover in pivotal roles.

In his review for Outlook India, Prateek Sur gave the film 2.5 stars. He wrote, '''Dunki’ isn’t Rajkumar Hirani’s best work. He has done way better films, which bumped up the expectations from this film. To add to that, this time he had Shah Rukh Khan for the first time. Yet, it didn’t live up to the hype.''
