'Duranga 2' Actor Abhijeet Khandkekar: I Don't Carry The Burden Of The Past Season's Success

'Duranga 2' actor Abhijeet Khandkekar said that he approaches his character with an entirely fresh attitude and outlook.

'Duranga 2' recently premiered on Zee5. Gulshan Devaiah, Amid Sadh, and Drashti Dhami returned with their characters. Abhijeet Khandkekar who played journalist Vikas Sarode also reprised his role in the series. The eight-episode series is directed by Rohan Sippy.

Everyone has been raved for their performances and Abhijeet too has got positive responses for his character. When asked how he approaches portraying the intense and investigative nature of a crime journalist in the psychological thriller genre, he said, I love the character of Vikas Sarode. During my college days, I worked with a local news channel as a part-time news reporter for almost 6 years, so I have a fair idea of how journalism works. I understand how small-time journalists can become troublesome for politicians or uncover significant stories. I didn't find it difficult to approach this character. Honestly, I didn't think of it from the perspective of a psychological thriller game because I personally believe in one thing that if the character knows what's going to happen in the end, it might show on the actor's face. So, I tried to approach my character in a way that portrayed me as honest and raw because Vikas Sarode is a person who strives to do hard-hitting investigative journalism, so I tried to portray this in my character."

On how he dealt with the pressure and the expectations of living up to the success of the previous season, Abhijeet said, ''I do not think of any success or expectations from the first season. For people, it may be the first or second season or even an episodic instalment or a feature film. Personally, I perceive this entire project as one continuous story. So, I believe that I do not have to change anything about myself because I'm playing the same character. As the story unfolds, I adapt to how the character changes from scene to scene. I don't carry the burden of the past season's success, and I didn't dwell on it much. I approach the character with an entirely fresh attitude and outlook."
