‘Guns & Gulaabs’ Actor Kumar Saurabh Opens Up On Reuniting With Gulshan Devaiah In Raj & DK Show

"After seeing my work on set, they wrote another scene for me with Gulshan Devaiah", says actor Kumar Saurabh.

Actor Kumar Saurabh, best known for his work in projects such as Ranbir Kapoor-starring film ‘Shamshera’, ‘Maharani 2’, ‘Shikhsa Mandal’, ‘Laal Rang’, ‘Baaghi 2’, ‘Veerappan’, Sony LIV's ‘Nirmal Pathak Ki Ghar Wapsi’, and MX Player's ‘High’, is currently seen playing the character Kharbujewala in Netflix’s dark comedy series ‘Guns and Gulaabs’, helmed by Raj & DK.

Talking about his role, Kumar shared, "I'm playing the character of a magician who roams around the market and nukkads to showcase his magic tricks and sells talismans to people. Inorder to portray this role, I tried to get into the style and body language of how magicians perform their act with ease which I've seen in my childhood days and keeping that as a reference, I played the part."

Sharing about how he landed into the role, he revealed, "I was offered this role by Casting Bay. Initially, I rejected because there were only two scenes. But later on, I felt like going ahead and doing it. Perhaps, the interesting part is after seeing my work on set, they wrote another scene for me which is with Gulshan Devaiah in the 7th episode."

Describing his working experience with Raj & DK, he mentioned, "Raj & DK watched a short film of mine and offered me this role. When I came to the set for the first time, Raj really praised my work in that film. It was such a brilliant experience shooting with them. The atmosphere on set was full of energy and liveliness. It was a rewarding experience working with them."

Speaking about reuniting with Gulshan Devaiah after ‘Shikhsa Mandal’, he said, "This is the second time I'm working with him. He is such a great human being. We both share a great rapport since our last project. We used to have interesting conversations in between scenes. Initially, he was unaware that I'm playing the magician but later when he saw me, he was delighted. Hum dono haath pakad kar gol gol ghumne lage aur he he he Bol ke chila ke apni khushi zahir karne lage (laughs). All the people on set looked at us. It was such a pleasant and positive environment on set."

‘Guns and Gulaabs’ started streaming on Netflix from August 18, 2023.
