At the trailer launch of 'Main Atal Hoon', Vinod Bhanushali revealed how he has no political motive behind making this film. He also said how Pankaj Tripathi is perfect for the role.
The trailer of Pankaj Tripathi starrer ‘Main Atal Hoon’ was released yesterday. At the trailer launch, the movie’s producer, Vinod Bhanushali, spoke about how he had no political reasons behind making this film. He also talked about how Pankaj Tripathi was the best choice for this role.
Speaking to the media, Vinod Bhanushali said that when he and his team decided to make this film, it wasn’t because of any political reasons. They made this film because they thought it would be a matter of pride for them to tell the story of Atal Bihari Vajpayee. He said, “Agar aap Atal ji ki picture banaoge, toh unke baare mein hi bataoge na? Unhone kya kiya tha. Ab unhone BJP ka sarjan kiya tha, toh wo bhi aayegi usme. It is the entire span of his life, unke bachpan se leke teen time prime minister jo the, everything is included. Toh ye kehna theek nahi hoga ki ye kisi mancha ke hisaab se film banai gayi hai.”
Adding to this, he mentioned how he had approached Pankaj Tripathi. He told the actor that if he did not agree to play the role, they would not make the film. They made this decision because they thought that only Tripathi could lend the required gravitas to the role. The team thought that no one apart from him could play the role of Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
Echoing the same sentiment as Vinod Bhanushali, Pankaj Tripathi said, “Cinema hai aur agar aapko lagta hai ki bharatiya mattdata prabhavit ho jayenge, toh aap unka kam mulyankan kar rahe hai.”
‘Main Atal Hoon’ is directed by Ravi Jadhav and will be released in theatres on January 19, 2024. The film will revolve around the political career of the former Prime Minister.
