'Oppenheimer' director Christopher Nolan revealed the reason behind not having a smartphone.
Christopher Nolan is one of the greatest filmmakers we have today. He has directed movies like 'Inception', 'Tenet', 'The Dark Knight', 'Dunkirk', and 'Insomnia' among others. His upcoming movie 'Oppenheimer' is creating a lot of buzz and it is all set to hit the screens on July 21. Ahead of its release, Nolan has been giving interviews. In one of those, he revealed that he doesn't use smartphones. Yes, you read it right!
Nolan to Hollywood Reporter revealed the reason why he doesn't use a smartphone. He said, "My personal choice is about how involved I get. It’s about the level of distraction. If I’m generating my material and writing my own scripts, being on a smartphone all day wouldn’t be very useful for me".
For the unversed, he writes his scripts on a computer which doesn't have an internet connection. He added, "My kids would probably say I’m a complete Luddite".
Nolan also said that he is easily distractible so he doesn't really want to have access to the internet every time when he is bored. "I do a lot of my best thinking in those kind of in-between moments that people now fill with online activity, so it benefits me," said the Oscar nominee.
Talking about his much-awaited movie 'Oppenheimer', it stars Robert Downey Jr., Matt Damon and Cillian Murphy. The movie is based on the Pulitzer Prize–winning biography American Prometheus: The Triumph and Tragedy of J. Robert Oppenheimer.
