Fans are eagerly anticipating the release of 'Pushpa 2: The Rule.' Although the movie isn't currently making the news, its lead actor Allu Arjun has made headlines due to a bold personal decision.
A report by Gulte said that he turned down a substantial Rs 10 crore offer from a liquor and pan masala brand. The brand wanted its logo featured whenever his character Pushpa smokes or chews tobacco in the movie. Allu Arjun refused the offer, saying he wasn’t “comfortable” with promoting such brands.
However, this wouldn't be the first time Allu Arjun took a stand against endorsing such products. Following the massive success of 'Pushpa: The Rise,' a tobacco company reportedly approached him and offered him a hefty sum for a TV commercial. However, he politely declined that offer too.
Given that the popularity of 'Pushpa' gained him nationwide stardom, his demand for endorsements has undoubtedly increased significantly, resulting in getting him deals with other brands. But, he is a man of principles and knows where to draw a clear boundary when it comes to alcohol, tobacco, and similar products. This sole decision is enough for fans to know about his commitment to his values and well-being of his fans.
The actor, who won the Best Actor National Award for his performance in the movie, understands the influence and the platform he has and chooses to use it responsibly, choosing social well-being over financial gains.
Extending beyond 'Pushpa 2,' the actor is set to join forces with renowned filmmaker Trivikram Srinivas for the fourth time. Rumors are that the project is a period drama based on India's fight for independence, with a chance of Arjun starring opposite Trisha Krishnan. However, no official confirmation has been made.
Joining Allu Arjun for 'Pushpa 2' will be Fahadh Faasil, Rashmika Mandanna, Sunil, Prakash Raj, and Jagapathi Babu, with Sukumar wielding the director's seat once again. Mythri Movie Makers will back the project, while Devi Sri Prasad will continue to entice audiences with his music. It was recently announced that 'Pushpa 2' will be released on August 15, 2024.
