'Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani' First Weekend Collection: Alia Bhatt-Ranveer Singh's Film Records Notable Jump, Inches Closer To Rs 50 Crore

'Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani' starring Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh released in theatres on July 28. It had a solid first weekend.

Filmmaker Karan Johar donned the director's hat after seven years of hiatus. He has been getting a terrific response for his film 'Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani' that released in theatres on July 28. Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh play the leads, Rani and Rocky. The movie opened with Rs 11.10 crore and on its first Saturday, it witnessed a jump as the romantic comedy-drama earned Rs 16.05 crore. 'RRKPK' had a solid Sunday too.

Dharma Productions shared the Day 3 collection of 'Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani' on social media. It has raked in Rs 18.75 crore on Day 3. So, the total BO collection of the film stands at Rs 45.90 crore.

Also, reportedly, it has recorded the fourth-highest weekend collections of the year after Shah Rukh Khan’s 'Pathaan', Salman Khan’s 'Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan' and Prabhas and Kriti Sanon starrer 'Adipurush'. It is also said that 'RRKPK' has recorded a healthy worldwide gross and is targeting Rs 85 crore weekend global collections.

The movie currently has no other Hindi film competitor at the box office. Till August 11, it has 10 days to earn as much as it can because two big movies are releasing on August 11. Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel's 'Gadar 2' and Akshay Kumar’s 'OMG 2' are clashing on the same day. So, in that case, Alia-Ranveer's film might face tough competition.
