‘Salaar’ Box Office Collection Day 5: Prabhas’ Film Inches Closer To Rs 500 Crore Mark Worldwide

The Prabhas-starrer witnessed a slight drop at the box office on its first Tuesday after its release.

Prabhas film, ‘Salaar: Part 1 – Ceasefire’, has been raking in moolah ever since its release in the cinema halls worldwide on December 22. The action-thriller, helmed by Prashanth Neel, witnessed a steady drop in revenue after kicking off its massive run at the box office with the opening collection of Rs 90.7 crore in India. The collections then dropped to Rs 56.35 crore on Saturday, and then witnessed a slight growth on Sunday (Rs 62.05 crore).

However, on Monday, the occasion of the Christmas holiday, the collections dropped further and the film earned Rs 46.3 crore. Coming to its fifth day, its first working weekday, the film collected Rs 23.50 crore, according to industry tracker Sacnilk.

Clearly, the numbers were less than the first Tuesday figures for this year’s biggest blockbuster, ‘Jawan’, which earned Rs 39.1 crore on its fifth day. Ranbir Kapoor’s ‘Animal’ too did a better business than ‘Salaar’ on its fifth day by earning Rs 37.47 crore. Sunny Deol’s ‘Gadar 2’ also made Rs 55.4 crore on the fifth day.

Coming to the total nett collection of ‘Salaar’, it currently stands at Rs 278.90 crore. Globally, the film is inching closer to the Rs 500 crore mark. With the latest feat, ‘Salaar’ is set to become the sixth Indian film of 2023 to pass the Rs 500 crore mark globally, and join the likes of ‘Pathaan’, ‘Jawan’, ‘Jailer’, ‘Animal’ and ‘Leo’.

In the Hindi belt, it is facing competition from Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Dunki’ which has earned Rs 140.20 crore in six days of its release on December 21.

Much like the Ranbir Kapoor-starrer ‘Animal’, ‘Salaar’ was granted an A certificate as well. Helmed by Prashanth Neel, who is known for the ‘K.G.F.’ franchise, it sees Prabhas playing the titular character of an assassin who is a childhood friend of Prithviraj Sukumaran's character.
