Johnny Lever recently visited Junior Mehmood and opened up about his suffering from stage four stomach cancer. Now Jeetendra and Sachin Pilgaonkar have also visited the ailing actor.
Just a couple of days back Johnny Lever went to meet an ailing Naeem Sayyed aka Junior Mehmood. The videos and pics from the meeting went viral all over social media. People, who were not aware of his ailment, realised about his diagnosis and came forward to help in their own ways and also create more awareness in people about his disease. Now, Jeetendra and Sachin Pilgaonkar went ahead and visited Junior Mehmood.
For the unversed, Junior Mehmood has been diagnosed with stage four stomach cancer. He is popularly known as Junior Mehmood and has acted in numerous films like ‘Caravan’, ‘Haathi Mere Saathi’, ‘Mera Naam Joker’, and many others.
Jeetendra went to meet Junior Mehmood after he had expressed his desire to meet him with whom he had acted in films like ‘Suhaag Raat’ and ‘Caravan’. Jeetendra got very emotional after meeting Junior Mehmood. The two had shared a great camaraderie onscreen in numerous films in the 1970s-80s.
Sachin Pilgaonkar also went to visit Junior Mehmood. He took to social media and posted a long message after meeting him. “I request you all to pray for my childhood friend Jr Mehmood who’s suffering from a fatal illness. I had a video conversation with him a couple of days ago and went to see him today but he was sleeping as he was under medication. I am in touch with his son and Johnny Lever regarding his health. May god bless him,” wrote Sachin Pilgaonkar. Not many knew that he and Junior Mehmood were childhood buddies.
Talking to PTI, Johnny Lever had opened up about Junior Mehmood’s diagnosis of stage four cancer after his visit a few days back. “He is suffering from stomach cancer. His health is a bit complicated. I was in touch with him regularly, but he never mentioned his health issues. I had met him one-and-a-half months ago. I was informed by one of his close associates that he has been unwell for ten days and is on liquid, and that he has cancer. That’s when I met him and I was told that he has stage four stomach cancer.”
Johnny Lever also informed everyone that Junior Mehmood was undergoing treatment at Tata Memorial Hospital. He also informed PTI, “Now, he is recuperating at home.”
