Ali Abbas Zafar and his wife Alicia have become parents to a baby girl, whom they have named Alija Zehra Zafar.
Ali Abbas Zafar tied the knot with his wife Alicia Zafar in January last year. And now, the couple has welcomed their first child together. The renowned filmmaker shared the good news on his Instagram account on Sunday and revealed that he and Alicia were blessed with a baby girl on Saturday.
Sharing a picture of his wife cradling her baby bump as she posed against a wall, Ali disclosed the name of her baby girl and it is Alija Zehra Zafar. He also penned a sweet note for his wife and wrote, "Alicia and I began our journey with love, love which is beyond borders - colour and race, we are very fortunate that we found each other and got married, Now after almost after 2 years we are thankful to Almighty Allah for blessing us with most beautiful gift of our life."
Talking about their baby girl, Ali added, "She came into our life on 24th September at midnight 12.25. Please welcome our bundle of Joy - Alija Zehra Zafar."
As soon as he posted the photo, several celebs from the film fraternity congratulated him. While Anushka Sharma and Bhumi Pednekar dropped heart emojis, Priyanka Chopra wrote, "Congratulations to you both." Ranveer Singh commented too, "Bhai," while Arjun Kapoor wrote, "Badhai (congratulations)." Gauahar Khan, who worked with Ali on web show ‘Tandav’, commented, "Blessing and more! Heartiest congratulations."
Sunil Grover, who worked in ‘Bharat’ with Ali, wrote, , "Bestttt!! Wah Sir wah!! Mubarak Ho!! (Congratulations). Welcome Alija!" Huma Qureshi commented, "Congratulations… Masha allah," while Tiger Shroff said, "Mubarak ho guru ji (Congratulations Sir)."
Other celebs who congratulated him included Kritika Kamra, Neha Bhasin, Sandhya Mridul, and Hiten Tejwani.
Known for films like ‘Sultan’, ‘Tiger Zinda Hai’, and ‘Bharat’, Ali recently marked the release of his Netflix film ‘Jogi’, starring Diljit Dosanjh, which has been getting rave reviews from the audience and critics alike. Moving ahead, he is working on action movie ‘Bloody Daddy’ with Shahid Kapoor, and also has ‘Bade Miyan Chote Miyan’ with Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff.
Reportedly, Ali also has an action-entertainer with Katrina Kaif in the pipeline.
