The much-awaited 75th Annual Emmy Awards, scheduled for September 18 this year, will not be gracing our screens owing to the actors' and writers' strikes that have put entire Hollywood in a state of limbo. As reported by USA TODAY, the ceremony, hosted by the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, has now been postponed to January 2024.

The 75th Annual Emmy Awards, originally slated for Sept. 18, have been postponed to January 2024.
Nonetheless, the streets of Hollywood have fallen silent amid the writers' and actors' strikes and several productions for movies and TV shows have come to a halt. Hence, an event like the Emmy Awards was likely to be affected. The entire issue escalated when the actors' joined the writers' strikes.
The Daytime Emmy Awards, originally slated for June 16 in Los Angeles, were already postponed in May and now the primetime Emmys are facing the brunt with their September date transformed to January for now.
Not to miss, the Television Academy announced the Emmy nominations on July 12, just 48 hours before the SAG-AFTRA strike commenced. HBO's acclaimed drama "Succession" got around 27 nominations, including the Best Drama category. But as Hollywood struggles, it is likely that Emmy Awards will have to wait for everything to settle.
The decision to postpone the Emmy Awards is certainly historic, and the last time such a happening occurred was in 2001, following the tragic 9/11 attacks. That year, the awards were presented seven weeks later in November.
Now, everyone is awaiting January 2024 when the 75th Annual Emmy Awards are expected to finally happen. Albeit, the new date and a host for the ceremony are yet to be announced.
