Anup Ghoshal Dies At 77: ‘Tujhse Naraz Nahi Zindagi’ Singer Dies Due To Multiple Organ Failure

Popular Bengali singer Anup Ghoshal left for his heavenly abode earlier today. The ‘Tujhse Naraz Nahi Zindagi’ singer died at a private hospital in Kolkata after suffering multiple organ failure.

The entire music industry has been put into a state of mourning. Popular Bengali singer, Anup Ghoshal, who was the voice behind the famous song ‘Tujhse Naraz Nahi Zindagi’ from ‘Masoom’ (1983), has died earlier today. He was just 77. His death has come as a shock to everyone from the music and the film fraternity.

Anup Ghoshal has sung for numerous Satyajit Ray musicals as well. However, in Hindi, his most popular song was ‘Tujhse Naraz Nahi Zindagi’ which almost every Indian would have heard at some point or the other in their lives. He was prolific for singing songs of Kaji Nazrul Islam, Rabindranath Tagore and many other modern-day Bengali songs. For Satyajit Ray’s popular films ‘Goopy Gyne Bagha Byne’ and ‘Hirak Rajar Deshe’, he was one of the main singers. It catapulted him to instant success all over the world.

Anup Ghoshal passed away at a private hospital in Kolkata. The reason for the death is being told as multiple organ failure. The time of death has been reported as 1:40 pm. He had been hospitalised for the past few days at the same hospital where he breathed his last today.

While Anup Ghoshal was popular for his songs, not many would know that he had even contested the 2011 assembly elections. He stood on a ticket from Trinamool Congress from Uttarpara. His immense popularity made him win the election. He served with great dignity and will be remembered by people of that constituency for the same always.

Anup Ghoshal is survived by his two daughters. His death has been condoled by even the Chief Minister of West Bengal, Mamata Banerjee. She said, “I express my deep grief and condolence over the death of Anup Ghosal who had sung in Bengali, Hindi and other languages.”
