Bollywood actor Aparshakti Khurana is all set to give 'Dhokha' to his fans! Before readers jump to any conclusion, lets clear the doubt first.

'Dhokha - Round D Corner' is a suspense thriller from director Kookie Gulati with Aparshakti, R. Madhavan, Khushali Kumar and Darshan Kumar starring in key roles. Aparshakti, who's mostly seen in comic roles, will be seen in a different avatar in the movie -- playing a Kashmiri terrorist.

The actor is well-known for his comic roles films such as 'Stree', 'Luka Chuppi', and most recently, 'Hum Do Humare Do'. However, now he will be seen in a negative role in 'Dhokha'.

Speaking exclusively with IANS, the actor said, "'Har tarike ka kaam hona chahiye' (one should do all kinds of work). I think I have many sides to my overall personality. When I was doing theatre in Delhi, I used to get only intense, dark roles and I would tell my director that I think my comic side is really good.

"But the director would say 'no Apar, there is anger and intensity in your eyes, which will go really well with negative characters'. But when I started doing films, people only saw me doing comic roles. Then I thought every stage has a different acceptance. I am glad now that the other side of me as an artiste, which is intense or negative shade, can be delivered now. I have tried to show a different sides of myself as a performer and I hope that the audience accepts me in this new version on the big screen."

Aparshakti credits director Gulati for his character in 'Dhokha', which will release on September 23.

"I would really like to give credit to the director. The confidence and faith shown in me for this Kashmiri terrorist's role was really encouraging," he said.

The 34-year-old, who is known for his multi-faceted talent, will also be seen in Ultimate Kho Kho (UKK) league. He will be the marquee presenter of the inaugural edition of UKK which will kick-start in Pune from Sunday.

The six franchises in the league are Chennai Quick Guns, Gujarat Giants, Mumbai Khiladis, Odisha Juggernauts, Rajasthan Warriors, and Telugu Yoddhas. A total of 143 players were selected from the draft that took place last month.

"These days, we always need a total package. I have done films, shows, travel shows etc., but when I had a conversation about the league, in the first five minutes I knew I had to do this. This league is really interesting, it is a complete package. I've been into sports all along, my life revolves around sports," he said.
