On KL Rahul’s 31st birthday, Athiya Shetty revealed what made her fall in love with her husband.
KL Rahul, who turns 31 today, is working hard for his IPL team, Lucknow SuperGiants, to reach the playoffs. And now on his birthday, his wife and actress Athiya Shetty was all praise for husband KL Rahul, and revealed what made her fall for him. The two got married earlier this year in January.
In an interview with Cosmopolitan, Athiya shared that Rahul is a ‘people’s person’ and rather a ‘far better conversationalist’ than her. “We have very different personalities, and I believe that’s what balances us out. However, our value system is very similar, and that’s how we connected. There are days when I am feeling a certain way, and I don’t have the energy to spell it out or make an effort to explain it well, and Rahul just understands what I’m going through. It comes naturally to him, and that’s what is so special about him,” she said.
Athiya further maintained that KL Rahul is very patient and not judgmental. She added, “He always looks at the positive in any person and situation. It is this quality of his that changed my outlook towards life, because now if something unpleasant happens, I always try to look at it from another perspective. And Rahul is responsible for changing my mindset.”
She did admit that she feels nervous when he is on the field playing a match, and she feels that for all her loved ones. “I feel nervous when I watch Ahan [Shetty, her brother] on stage…and I have always been like that when it comes to my dad, too. It’s the love and care and protection that I have for my loved ones that makes me nervous…I am fiercely protective about them,” Athiya said.
The two tied the knot on January 23 at the former’s Khandala home in an intimate ceremony.
