Legal action has been initiated against rapper Cardi B and her rapper-husband Offset for allegedly causing damage to their rental home in Los Angeles, along with not paying the rent due on time.
According to reports, rapper-couple Cardi B and Offset have a lawsuit filed against them for causing damage to their rental home and not paying rent on time.
The owner of the rental property has now sued the rappers for sheer negligence as well as a breach of contract. The court documents, obtained by TMZ, state that Cardi B, 31, and Offset, 32, lived in that house for about two years and moved out in October without any prior notice. The owner also accused them of not paying rent or utilities for quite a while.
The documents described the residence as severely damaged and in a horrible condition after they moved out. The owner elaborated further saying that there were broken furniture, wall punctures, permanent stains on limestone floors, as well as marks on rugs and curtains. Additionally, there were burn marks on multiple surfaces including tables, counters, and cabinets.
The owner estimated that the cost of repairing all damages was totaling upto at least $85,000. Despite various attempts by the owner to reach out to the two, there has been no communication from their end.
The lawsuit coincidentally comes weeks after Cardi B announced on her Instagram Live that she and Offset had separated. “I’ve been single for a minute now,” the ‘Bodak Yellow’ rapper said. Simultaneously, there were rumours about Offset cheating on Cardi B with Chrisean Rock. “I ain’t never talk or touch that lady,” Offset wrote in retailation to the accusation.
The breakup rumours started earlier this month right after they unfollowed each other on Instagram. “You know when you just outgrow [sic] relationships,” Cardi wrote cryptically on her Instagram Story that time.
A report by US Weekly said, “They’ve been through their fair share of ups and downs over the years but have always managed to come back to each other."
