“Will Continue To Visit Both Mosques And Temples,” says Charrul Malik while talking about the opening ceremony of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya on January 22. Even if she is massively excited for the event, she feels that it is unfortunate that politics revolve around religion.
Charrul Malik says that she is looking forward to the inauguration of Ram Mandir in Ayodhya. She says that she worships Lord Ram and this is why this is special for her. “The inauguration of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya is set to happen on the 22nd of January, and I’m eagerly looking forward to it for various reasons,” begins Charrul Malik.
“First and foremost, my belief in Lord Ram is profound – whenever we think about God, especially as Hindus, the name Ram always comes to mind. I’ve heard the stories of Ramayana from my parents, both my mom and dad, since childhood, and each narrative has created a vivid image of Lord Ram in my mind. This temple is significant as it marks the birthplace of Lord Ram – Ayodhya,” she says.
She adds, “While I’m excited about the temple’s inauguration, it’s important to note that before the Ram Temple, there was the Babri Masjid, leading to a lengthy legal battle and political discussions. In India, politics often intersects with religion, and it’s something we’ve seen in the case of the Ram Temple.”
Talking about the background of this mandir, she says, “Despite the ongoing political aspects, I believe religion plays a significant role in our country. There are speculations about the event being used for political mileage and some Muslims boycotting it. I won’t go into those details, but I think we should rise above such matters. Personally, I will continue to visit both mosques and temples; I don’t feel any different about other religions. It’s unfortunate that politics revolves around religion, but it’s a reality. This temple’s inauguration is a talking point because it’s happening at a grand scale. Ayodhya, a city deeply connected to the epic Ramayana, will witness a transformation.”
She adds, “I’m thrilled about the historical significance of this grand temple, which I believe will attract many tourists. Although Ayodhya has always been associated with Lord Ram, this temple’s grandeur will make it an even more popular destination. Many celebrities have been invited to the event, and I wish I could cover it live as a media person. Unfortunately, I missed this opportunity, but I encourage everyone to watch it on TV and visit Ayodhya to see the Ram Temple.”
She feels that there is a lot that has gone into the construction of this mandir. “I’m excited and happy about this event, but at the same time, I feel for those who have been through challenging times due to the background of the temple’s construction. It’s a sensitive issue that shouldn’t be further debated, considering it’s now a reality. However, politics still surrounds it, and we see discussions on all sides.”
She adds, “On a personal level, I am genuinely happy, and I believe that, like Diwali and Holi, the 22nd of January will be remembered as a festival in itself. Jai Shri Ram.”
