A section of the audience claims that 'Sher Khul Gaye' from 'Fighter' is copied from 'Staying Alive.' Director Siddharth Anand has come forward to put an end to these speculations.
Starring Deepika Padukone and Hrithik Roshan, ‘Fighter’ is about to be released in cinemas tomorrow. The movie has generated quite a buzz with its trailer and music videos. Talking about the music of the film, a section of internet users have pointed out that the song ‘Sher Khul Gaye’ from the movie sounds similar to Bee Gees ‘Staying Alive.’ In a recent interview, director Siddharth Anand has addressed these speculations.
Director Siddharth Anand said that he was aware of the fact that the audience is drawing parallels between ‘Sher Khul Gaye’ and ‘Staying Alive.’ In a conversation with Zoom, the director said, “I think it is those notes which are similar and that always will happen. Like you will have a song that is not inspired but has similar notes and similar progressions.”
To prove his point, Siddharth Anand hummed ‘Radha’ from ‘Student Of The Year’ and said that the “scanning is very similar” to ‘Jai Jai Shiv Shankar’ from ‘Aap Ki Kasam.’ Another section of the audience has also claimed that the song from ‘Fighter’ sounds similar to ‘Dynamite’ by BTS.
Adding to the conversation, Siddharth Anand said, “It’s the same scanning but it’s not copied. The scanning is similar so you can’t say it’s copied. These are things you have to, as a technician and as a professional, you have to understand, and recognize that this is okay. That scanning is similar but it’s not lifted.”
‘Sher Khul Gaye’ has been sung by Vishal-Sheykhar, Benny Dayal, and Shilpa Rao. Vishal-Sheykhar have composed the song, while Kumaar has penned the lyrics.
