K-Pop stars HyunA and Junhyung have made their relationship Instagram official!
K-Pop sensation HyunA has taken to her Instagram to update her fans and followers with a revelation in her personal life. She has announced that her relationship status has changed, and is now dating former Highlight member Junhyung.
She dropped this news right after many rumours surfaced about her getting back together with ex-boyfriend Dawn, who were a renowned couple for almost six years, and broke it off in 2022.
On January 18, HyunA posted an adorable photo where the two were seen holding each other's hands and walking on a beach, captioning it with one lovey-dovey emoticon, and tagged Yong Jun-hyung. The same day, the rapper also posted the same photo on his Instagram.
Fans, however, don't seem to have positive reactions of them getting together. One netizen stated, "out of all the men out there hyuna picked one involved in the burning sun scandal." Another said, "there is no grey area here. if hyuna is friends with or dating a man involved in burning sun, a man who admitted in court to watching filmed videos of women being r*ped and making comments abt them, then she’s a horrible person. end of story."
While a third one said, "No but hyuna is so slimy bc how do you go from being an inspiration for women in your country to date a man who caused so much damage to those same women?" Meanwhile, one commented, "hyuna is a very sick individual because the whole message of her career is women empowerment then she goes and dates a man who was involved in the burning sun crimes…."
For those unaware, Yong Jun-hyung was affiliated with The Burning Sun scandal, which was an entertainment and sex scandal in Seoul in 2019, which involved various Korean idols, including his former Highlight member Jung Joon-young, and police officials.
Meanwhile, their agencies have refused to comment on their relationship. Junhyung's agency, BLACK MADE, stated, "Because it’s a personal matter, it’s difficult for us to confirm.” And, HyunA's agency AT AREA responded by saying, "We are not involved with our artist’s personal life."
