Kajol will be seen as Nayonika, a mother of two and a lawyer, in ‘The Trial-Pyaar, Kanoon, Dhoka’.
Kajol-starrer ‘The Trial-Pyaar, Kanoon, Dhoka’ is all set for streaming on Disney Plus Hotstar from July 14. The show, which also stars Jisshu Sengupta, is directed by Suparn Verma. In the web series, Kajol will be seen as a lawyer, who returns to the courtroom after her husband (played by Jisshu) is arrested for sexual and financial misdemeanors.
Ahead of the show’s release, Kajol talked about her husband Ajay Devgn, and friend Shah Rukh Khan. When questioned who she would like to represent her as her lawyer, Kajol named Shah Rukh. “Shah Rukh. Hands down I will choose Shah Rukh. He is the smoothest talker ever,” she told Bollywood Bubble.
Kajol added, “And he will be standing over there and be like ‘lines ki jaroorat nahi hai, mein bol sakta hu’ (laughs). He will stand there and he will talk me out of anything that I’ve gotten myself into. So, definitely hands-down Shah Rukh.”
Kajol and SRK have worked together in films like ‘Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge’, ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’, ‘Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham’, ‘Baazigar’, ‘My Name Is Khan’, and ‘Dilwale’.
Kajol is marking her web show debut with ‘The Trail: Pyaar, Kanoon, Dhokha’. The show also stars Sheeba Chaddha, Alyy Khan, Gaurav Pandey, and Kubbra Sait. It is produced by Banijay Asia and Ajay Devgn Films, and is an Indian adaptation of the American show ‘The Good Wife’. Kajol will be seen as Nayonika, a mother of two and a lawyer who goes back to work after a hiatus, following her husband’s arrest.
