Miss World Runner-Up Shree Saini Expresses Her Desire To Work In Bollywood: Amitabh Bachchan Inspires Me The Most

Miss World Runner-Up Shree Saini is ready to do Hindi films if she gets an offer. She likes Akshay Kumar and Amitabh Bachchan.

The 71st Miss World 2023 contest is set to be held in India. It is nearly after three decades, the coveted international beauty pageant will be hosted by our country. India had last hosted the Miss World pageant in 1996. Outlook India had a conversation with Miss World America 2021 Beauty Queen Shree Saini where she spoke about the contest, her personal journey, her desire to work in the Hindi film industry and a lot more.

Shree Saini who is an Indian origin feels happy to be back in her first country, her motherland, India. ''I am so honoured that all the 130 nations are coming to India and I can't wait to share with all the other countries how diverse India is and how we are the land of 100 of cultural languages, thousands of dialects and every state has its own uniqueness. So, I am really looking at to sharing this as Miss World runner-up and Miss World America,'' she said.

Saini feels that India is the best place for the Miss World competition. She added, ''We are taking care of our former Miss Worlds from India and have given them such an incredible platform. They have become one of the most successful Miss Worlds and that has inspired national winners of every country. I am happy that it is finally happening and I hope that we can continue to find Miss World competition in India for many years to come.''

The Miss World 2021 first runner-up underwent heart surgery for a new pacemaker implant and she also had facial burns. It has been a gut-wrenching story. On what kept her going in her life, she said, ''I think it was my goal and my purpose to create a positive impact and there was an image that I saw when I was really young in India. I saw a lot of poverty and there was homelessness. So, even though I went through my heart condition, I had heart surgery and a pacemaker implant and I was also a burnt survivor, I still reminded myself that I am the blessing of food, water, and care and I need to utilise my blessings to bless others. I think a lot of my strength came from my gratitude and when you are struggling you have to continuously remind yourself what your end goal is and dreams are. You have to focus on your attention in giving and be generous because that also gives you a sense of empowerment and makes you feel like you have so much to offer to not focus on what you can't control.''

There was a moment when she felt that when she would be back to normal life or become a healthy teenager. She further said being patient was one of the biggest challenges.

While talking about the stigmas around women in India, the young model said, ''I think India has actually come really far. I don't feel that way at all when I am in India. It may be relevant in smaller towns. But in order to change the stigma you have to be the one that's not part of it. You have to be the one vocalising like it doesn't matter what I am wearing and how I am looking. You have to bring the change.''

Saina has also said that beauty standards have changed today in the beauty contests. ''Miss World organization is always been more than just beauty. They started it with a purpose more than 50 years ago. Miss World always looks for a contestant who is a great communicator, a role model and makes an impact and it's about creating a community leader. Miss World is a 30-day-long competition where there are interviews, where they see your walk, confidence, and how punctual you are. It's a very rigorous competition,'' said the diva.

Asked if she is interested in doing Bollywood films, Saini said, ''If I am offered I would be honoured. There is a lot of good influence you can make in Bollywood too. I love movie like '3 Idiots' and 'Sanju'. There are a lot of Bollywood movies that have made the world a more generous, kinder and loving place. There is a lot of goodness in Bollywood. It can be seen in the length of positive influence.''.

Amitabh Bachchan and Akshay Kumar are her favourites. She said, ''I like Akshay Kumar. He is a very sincere and genuine actor. I love Amitabh Bachchan. In 'Kaun Banega Crorepati', I was one of the questions that he asked after I became Miss World runner-up. So, I think what I love about him is how he speaks in Hindi and he treats all guests equally on the show. He inspires me the most because of the type of human being that he is.''
