The nominations of the 77th British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) Awards were unveiled very recently.

The critically acclaimed film 'Past Lives' has also made it to the list of nominations. The film, written and directed by Celine Song, narrates the story of two childhood friends, Nora and Hae Sung, who share a deep, profound connection with each other. However, they are separated when the former's family shifts from South Korea. After an odd two decades, the two cross paths and have a special reunion for only a week's time, as they try to understand the concepts of fate and love.

The film has received three nods for Best Original Screenplay, Best Film Not in the English Language, and Best Actor in a Leading Role (Teo Yoo).

Notably, Teo Yoo's nomination is a huge moment for the Korean entertainment industry as he has become the first Korean actor to receive a nomination for Best Actor at the esteemed British Awards. This comes shortly after Youn Yuh-jung became the first Korean actress to be nominated for Best Supporting Actress for her performance in 'Minari' in 2021, which she won eventually.

The 42-year-old actor is competing against the likes of Bradley Cooper - 'Maestro', Colman Domingo - 'Rustin', Paul Giamatti - 'The Holdovers', Barry Keoghan - 'Saltburn' and Cillian Murphy - 'Oppenheimer'. We will find out who takes home the award on February 18.
