Priyamani: Because Of 'The Family Man' There Is An Added Pressure To Do Good Projects

Priyamani is one of the big names in the South film industry. She made her Hindi film debut with Abhishek Bachchan starrer 'Raavan' but became popular with the dance number 'One Two Three Four' in 'Chennai Express' where she grooved with Shah Rukh Khan. It was with 'The Family Man', Priyamani became a household name. She played the character of Suchitra Iyer aka Suchi, wife of Srikant Tiwari played by Manoj Bajpayee. Though her character faced criticism she got much recognition in the North belt due to it. 

The National award-winning actress has set the bar high for herself by giving a stellar performance in the series. In an interview with Outlook, when she was asked if the pressure to perform better has increased because of the show, Priyamani said, "Pressure is always there even if I had done 'The Family Man' or haven't done it. I think it was all over but yes, with 'The Family Man', it has now got a wider reach of audience for me personally. A lot of people from the North as well are identifying who I am and they have been following my work and everything."

"So, as an actor, yes, professionally I can say that pressure was always there and because of 'The Family Man' there is an added pressure to do good projects because you are now known all over.  I am just praying and hoping that the projects that I am a part of and I am doing, I just hope people like it and support me," added the 'Narappa' actress.

On the work front, she has reunited with Shah Rukh Khan for 'Jawan'. The movie is all set to hit the screens on September 7, 2023.
