Samantha Ruth Prabhu revealed on Twitter that she was falsely quoted as saying at an event.
Pan-India actress Samantha Ruth Prabhu, this week, was quoted by several news portals that she has said that her ex-husband Naga Chaitanya is free to date whoever he chooses to, but should ‘change his behaviour’ to keep his partner happy. She was allegedly hinting at Naga’s rumoured relationship with actor Sobhita Dhulipala.
While the former couple, who tied the knot in 2017 and split up in 2021, has time and again admitted that they are on less-than-cordial terms, Samanatha denied making any such statement. “I never said this!!” she wrote, as she quote-tweeted one of the many articles that featured her earlier statement.
For the unversed, she was falsely quoted as saying at an event, “I am not bothered as to who is in a relationship with whom. Those who do not know the value of love will be left in tears irrespective of the number of people they date. At least that girl should be happy. If he changes his behaviour and looks after the girl without hurting her, it will be good for everyone.”
The latest development comes days after a photo of Chaitanya and Sobhita triggered speculations of their alleged relationship. It showed the actor posing with the chef in London, with Sobhita in the background.
Meanwhile, Samantha has remained tight-lipped about her divorce from Chaitanya, she spoke about it on ‘Koffee with Karan’ last year, and responded, “Like if you put us both in a room, you have to hide sharp objects? Yeah. At the moment, yes.”
Samantha will soon be seen in the period epic ‘Shaakuntalam’. Sobhita, on the other hand, will feature next in ‘Ponniyin Selvan: II’ and in the second season of ‘Made in Heaven’.
