Shah Rukh Khan turns 58 today. On his birthday, celebs talk about how they’ve seen the actor have a transformation from TV to films and to superstardom

Shah Rukh Khan turns 58 today. On his birthday, celebs talk about how they’ve seen the actor have a transformation from TV to films and to superstardom. They also share their choicest wishes for the ‘Dunki’ star who’s had a rollercoaster of a year with ‘Pathaan’ and ‘Jawan’ becoming all-time blockbusters. Some celebs also can’t help but get confused when asked to choose their favourite movie of Shah Rukh Khan.

Here’s what they all had to say about King Khan:

Somy Ali

Happy birthday to Shah Rukh Khan! He’s not just a superstar on screen, but a genuine and humble person off it. May Allah bless him and his loved ones. His journey from TV to film showcases his hard work and determination. I recently watched ‘DDLJ’ and ‘Anjaam’, and it’s clear that he’s incredibly versatile and dedicated. He’s not just a talented actor; his charity work and humility make him a real-life hero. His recent hits, ‘Pathaan’ and ‘Jawan’, are no surprise. Shah Rukh Khan and Aamir Khan put in unmatched energy into their work, making success almost guaranteed. Shah Rukh understands his audience, and his performances always resonate with viewers. He’s not just a performer but a wise businessman. My all-time favourite film of his is ‘Veer Zaara’. The acting, direction, and script, along with the message of unity between India and Pakistan, make it a timeless classic. Preity Zinta’s performance as Zaara is phenomenal. And of course, there’s ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’, a testament to Karan Johar’s brilliance in combining intellect with mass appeal. Anything from Karan is a must-watch.

Honestly speaking, I can’t believe he’s turning 58 now. I still feel like he’s around 37 or 38. It’s unbelievable to see him with that level of energy and charm. You can undergo surgeries and cosmetic procedures to appear young, but you can’t manufacture the kind of energy he has at the age of 58. This is why people call him King Khan. Shah Rukh Khan is truly incredible. I recently watched his movies ‘Pathaan’ and ‘Jawan’, and both films have shattered all Bollywood records. It’s astonishing to witness someone achieve this at the age of 58, especially when many people in India retire at 50. Shah Rukh Khan seems to be ageing in reverse. I used to wonder why he consistently did romantic movies, but in the last 10 years, he’s been experimenting with films like ‘Ra One’, ‘Pathaan’, and ‘Jawan’. As an actor and a creative person, I appreciate his work in ‘Pathaan’ and ‘Jawan’. However, as an audience member, I still hold a special place in my heart for ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’ and ‘Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham’.

SRK is ageing like wine. I feel he is the one in a million kind of a person, who was born to inspire others. His journey from television to film is surely commendable. But earlier television was also celebrated as much as films are celebrated today. Talking about his films, Jawaan and Pathaan, they are getting much love from the audiences. He was suffering for a long time due to several personal issues but by God’s grace, he has made a smashing comeback with Jawaan and Pathaan. My favourite films of his are ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’, and ‘Darr’. And favourite song is from his film ‘Yes Boss’, ‘Chand Taare Tod Lau’. I find it relatable.

I’ve always been a big fan of SRK, admiring his work and who he is. What sets him apart is not only his artistry but also his business acumen. He’s mastered the art of balancing it all, which I greatly admire. One of his songs, ‘Chand Taare Tod Lau’ from ‘Yes Boss’, perfectly reflects how he’s fulfilled every promise in those lyrics. Starting from nowhere, without any industry connections, he’s shown that anyone can achieve success, whether you begin in television or film. He began his journey on TV and became the most successful person in the industry. Shah Rukh Khan’s legacy is bound to last for generations. His humility, continuous self-improvement, and work ethic are truly commendable. Despite facing setbacks, as with ‘Pathaan’ and ‘Jawan’ this year, he always bounces back. My all-time favourite film of his is ‘Kabhi Haan, Kabhi Naa’. I’ve watched it countless times, thanks to the memorable songs and his portrayal of the character.

SRK is an inspiration to millions. As an actor, I am a big fan and have always looked up to and learned from him occasionally. His journey is proof of pure hard work, dedication, self-belief, and his attitude towards life not only as an actor but as a human being, which makes him what he is today. We all have missed watching SRK on the big screen for a long time. I was eagerly waiting for his movies this year. I have seen both films and for me as a fan the only thing important was to watch him on the big screen, he creates his aura and charisma. It’s always a treat to watch him. There are many and it is very difficult to pick one. But if I have to think it has to be ‘Dil Se’. I loved his performance in that one.

Lots of well wishes to him on his birthday. He’s the crush of so many, including myself. I remember him saying ‘Hi Chaps’ with a dimple in ‘Fauji’ and his charming persona on TV. Then, I watched his journey on the silver screen starting with ‘Deewana’. Many of us wished for a boyfriend like Raj from ‘DDLJ’ (laughs) who would go to great lengths for love. What a journey, a true success story. I recall an interview where he said, “I love my work, I know my craft so well that even in a bad film, I will do good; even in one shot, that will be my best shot.” This is what makes him King Khan. I’ve learned one thing from him: believe in yourself, no matter what others say or think. With back-to-back successes like ‘Pathaan’ and ‘Jawan’, he’s shown that King Khan is here to stay. He continues to rule the silver screen and our hearts.

‘DDLJ’, holds a special place in my heart as my all-time favourite film. Shah Rukh Khan is not just an exceptional actor but also a phenomenal human being. His intelligence and charm are evident in every role he portrays. What sets Shah Rukh Khan apart is not just his ability to deliver hit movies but also his talk shows are very inspiring. He has a knack for connecting with audiences on a deeper level and imparting meaningful insights through these shows. One of the most remarkable aspects of Shah Rukh Khan’s career is his transition from television to film. His journey from the small screen to becoming a Bollywood superstar is like a record unbroken. Achieving such a transition would be an incredibly difficult task for anyone, given the unique path he carved for himself. Shah Rukh Khan’s success story serves as an enduring source of inspiration for aspiring actors and a testament to his exceptional talent and determination.

Shah Rukh Khan’s journey from television to becoming a superstar on the silver screen is nothing short of inspirational. SRK’s relentless pursuit of success, along with his undeniable talent, has left an indelible mark on the industry. This year has been particularly exciting with the release of ‘Pathaan’ and ‘Jawan’, both of which have enjoyed immense success. It’s heartwarming to see him continue to shine and evolve as an actor. As for my all-time favourite film of his, I’d have to choose ‘Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge’ (‘DDLJ’). The film’s timeless story of love and family values, combined with SRK’s charismatic portrayal of Raj, has made it an enduring classic. It’s a movie that resonates with audiences across generations, and that’s why it holds a special place in my heart.

Here’s wishing him a very happy birthday.
