Actor Sheezan Khan who was recently spotted playing the role of Dr Arjun Singh Thakur in ‘Chand Jalne Laga’ has opened up about why he quit the show within a month. The show marked the actor’s comeback to daily soaps after a year-long gap.
In a conversation with The Times Of India, Sheezan Khan revealed why he quit the show where he was the parallel lead. He had started shooting on December 1. He mentioned how the role did not do justice to his talent. The actor said, “I was promised the role of the parallel lead, but it was later reduced to just another character. I had no choice but to quit the show. I am now looking for a role that will do justice to my talent. As an actor, the factors governing my choices include substantial screen time and a performance-oriented role.”
Earlier when Sheezan Khan was roped in for the daily soap, the actor mentioned that he had his reservations initially. However, he added that the doubts vanished when he heard the narration and the storyline from the makers.
The actor also revealed why he said yes to ‘Chand Jalne Laga’ in the first place. He said that he received the offer when no one was offering him work. He added that he is ready to start from scratch. He said, “I am fine with starting again from zero because, at least, I have the guts to restart. Besides, I have not changed my approach to work. I still consider myself a newcomer, and I will see myself as one until the end because life teaches you something new every day.”
Sheezan Khan became a household name after he portrayed the role of Ali Baba in ‘Ali Baba: Dastaan-E-Kabul’ alongside late actor, Tunisha Sharma. The actor had also participated in Rohit Shetty’s ‘Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi 13’ this year.
