Sushmita Sen Denies Dumping Her First Boyfriend Rajat Tara Post Miss Universe Win, Admits She 'Outgrew' Him

Actress Sushmita Sen is currently basking in the success of her recently released web series 'Aarya Season 3'. She often grabs the headlines for the relationships she had in the past. Sushmita has never shied away from speaking about her exes. There were rumours that Sen parted ways from her first boyfriend Rajat Tara after winning Miss Universe in 1994. She has now clarified that her decision to end things with Rajat was mutual. Sen also said that she still shares a great friendship with him and she was even the “best man" at his wedding in Serbia.

Sushmita told Mid-day, “Rajat Tara. He is actually one of the nicest… I am actually so glad that he was my first boyfriend, because of the generosity of this man, to this day… He is the father of this beautiful little girl, I was the ‘best man’ at his wedding. He is married to a Serbian lady and she is divine, she wanted me there. Everything about this wedding was special. I went to Belgrade (the capital city of Serbia) for the wedding''.

The 'Taali' actress also said that she didn't ‘dump’ him but ‘outgrew’ him. ''I had outgrown him and he had realised that. He had said to me, ‘I have sat with you and dreamt with you, not so that you end up with me. Go and live your life’. We remain friends. There are no regrets there. To this day, he is the person I’ll call, no matter where he is in the world, and he’ll answer my call and say, ‘Kaun tang kar raha hai, aaun kya? (Who is bothering you, should I come?)’. I’ve been very blessed,'' added Sushmita. 

Sushmita is often spotted with her ex-boyfriend Rohman Shawl. They broke up in 2021. Sushmita and Rohman's outings have often created confusion among her fans. Also, last year, there were rumours of the actress dating the business tycoon Lalit Modi.
