Yashica Dutt Who Called Out 'Made In Heaven 2' Makers Of Plagiarism Is Now Accused For Same

A law scholar took to the X platform (previously called Twitter) and called out author Yashica Dutt for copying his work without his permission.

'Made In Heaven 2' landed into controversies post its release. While fashion designer Tarun Tahiliani slammed the makers for using his designs and not giving him credit, 'Coming Out As Dalit' author Yashica Dutt too called them out for allegedly using her work from her memoir in one of the episodes of the show without her consent. Yashica in a long post expressed her dismay. Now, in a turn of events, a law scholar named Sumit Baudh has accused Dutt of plagiarism. What an irony, isn't it?

The law scholar took to the X platform (previously called Twitter) and called out Yashica Dutt for copying his work without his permission. He shared Dutt's news article and wrote, "Proprietary claims to ideas and stories are also characteristic of a system that rewards seemingly individual effort over interdependent ways in which ideas are conceived, shaped, formed, advanced, received, amplified, and encashed."

He further in another tweet wrote, ''Amusing to note the obvious hypocrisy here—of @YashicaDutt’s failure to credit my article (of 2007) in her book (of 2019),"

Have a look at his tweets here.

For the unversed, Yashica in her Instagram post had earlier claimed that the 5th episode 'The Heart Skipped A Beat' of 'Made In Heaven 2', starring Radhika Apte bears a stark resemblance to her life. Radhka played Dalit author Pallavi Menke. The episode follows a Dalit Buddhist wedding that has got lots of appreciation from all across the nation.

Claiming that the episode is inspired by her life, Dutt wrote, "It’s been an overwhelming few days. Seeing my likeness on screen without warning or permission was a roller-coaster starting from thrill and excitement to sadness and loss. I continue to support @neeraj.ghaywan’s excellent work, whether now with Made in Heaven or Geeli Pucchi before. But this needs to be addressed."

Yashica's claim has made makers Zoya Akhtar, Reema Kagti and director Neeraj Ghaywan deny it as they too released a statement.

On the recent plagiarism claim, Yashica is yet to comment.
