Maruti Suzuki will stop selling diesel-engined cars by April 2020.
The carmaker has confirmed CNG variants of all its small cars.
Decision aided by government’s announcement to open 10,000 CNG outlets nationwide over the next 10 years.
Current Maruti models with CNG kits from factory are - Alto, Alto K10, Celerio, Dzire, WagonR and Ertiga.
Maruti to add CNG variants of Swift, Ignis, Baleno and upcoming S-Presso to its lineup.
Could bring back BS6-compliant diesel engines at a later stage depending on customer demand.
