Triumph Scrambler 1200 Launch Date Announced

Triumph India has just tweeted that on 24th October 2018, a riding revolution will begin with the Scrambler 1200

After releasing a teaser of the Scrambler 1200, back on 10th August 2018, Triumph has now released yet another teaser showing off some of the highlights of the Scrambler 1200. Triumph Motorcycles India has also tweeted that they we will be witnessing the Scrambler 1200 launch on 24th October 2018. Currently the Indian website is not providing much details of the motorcycle itself but it is instead showcasing the history of scrambling, which started for Triumph in the 1960’s. The website also states Triumph’s learning from the past, in order to offer a “Category-defining agility”.

The big Scrambler will join Triumph’s heritage motorcycle lineup. It is likely to be powered by the same 1200cc parallel-twin motor that powers the Triumph Thruxton 1200, pumping out a good 80PS of power and 77Nm of torque. However, expect the engine to be re-tuned to serve its new purpose of off-roading better. Being a Triumph, we can expect to see a whole bunch of electronics to alter the motorcycle's nature to your liking.

Going by the spy shots that appeared a few months back, we hope to see two versions of the Scrambler 1200, one with cast wheels and conventional rubber (road version) and the other will come with spoked wheels and knobby tyres (off-road version). Underpinnings include long travel USD forks upfront, with dual shock absorbers at the rear. We expect them to be a completely adjustable kit as well.

Once launched, the Triumph Scrambler 1200 will lock horns with the recently launched Ducati Scrambler 1100, which is priced at Rs 10.91 lakh (ex-showroom). However, expect Triumph to price the Scrambler 1200 at around Rs 12 lakh (ex-showroom).
