Yamaha launched the third generation R15 at the 2018 Auto Expo held in February this year at an introductory price of Rs 1.25 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). Since then, the R15 sales have more than doubled, from around 3,000 units a month to 7,000 units, a clear indication of its success in the Indian two-wheeler market. However, the Japanese company has now bumped up the price of the 155cc motorcycle to Rs 1.27 lakh, a hike of Rs 2,000.
