There are plans for five pipelines to bring oil and gas to India from the wells of Myanmar, Bangladesh and Central Asian countries. India is likely to be one of the largest Asian importers of gas by 2005.
Myanmar-Bangladesh-India gas pipeline
Route: Yangon offshore, Bangladesh, south Calcutta, Dhanbad, Orissa coast, Vishakhapatnam and from Dhanbad to Kanpur, Ferozabad, Agra, Faridabad, New Delhi.
