Zomato Co-Founder Gaurav Gupta Quits

Gupta was designated as the co-Founder of the restaurant and food aggregator in 2019, the reason behind his exit could not be deciphered at the time of publishing this story

Online restaurant aggregator Zomato's co-founder Gaurav Gupta quit the company today. He was designated as the co-founder in 2019 and was spearheading the supply functions and operations of the company. 

"I am taking a new turn in my life and will be starting a new chapter, taking a lot from this defining chapter of my life – the last 6 years at Zomato", Gupta wrote to his colleagues. 

Gupta thanked his colleagues including founder Deepinder Goyal for including him in the venture. He had joined Zomato in 2015, was promoted to COO in 2018 and was designated co-founder in 2019. 

CEO Deepinder Goyal took to Twitter to thank his outgoing colleague. 

In other developments, the app-based aggregator decided to discontinue its grocery delivery service yesterday. It said  that its investment in Grofers will generate better outcomes for its shareholders than in-house grocery efforts.
