The journey of the Canadian heartthrob Shawn Mendes started from posting song covers on Vine and YouTube to singing his own songs on sold-out world tours.
Global superstar and musician Shawn Mendes displayed his musical capabilities from age 13 when he started playing the guitar. But, his journey began after gaining massive popularity after his 2013 Vine cover of Justin Bieber’s “As Long As You Love Me” peaked online. He was only 15 at that time.
Breakthrough: Handwritten
As he posted more song covers, his following increased. In January 2014, he signed a record deal with Island Records and subsequently released his debut single “Life of the Party” in June 2014. From there onwards, it has only been a ladder towards the top for the musician. Soon afterwards in April 2015, he released his debut album “Handwritten”. The album debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart and was nominated for the Album of the Year award at Juno Awards. The album won him the Favorite Breakout Artist award at the 42nd People's Choice Awards.

Post the success of his second studio album, the singer also released his first live album titled Live at Madison Square Garden in December 2016 to much praise from his loyal fans.
