Haryana Election Results 2024 LIVE: BJP Crosses Majority Mark Of 46 In Trends, Congress Trails With 34 Seats

In Ballabgarh seat of Haryana, BJP candidate Mool Chand Sharma is leading with 25,014 votes, while Sharda Rathore, an Independent candidate, is trailing with 15,059 votes, and another Independent candidate, Rao Ram Kumar, is also trailing with 6,841 votes.

BJP candidate Mahipal Dhanda is leading in Panipat Rural(24) seat with 42161 votes.

BJP candidate Parmod Kumar is leading in Panipat City(25) seat with 33475 votes.

The data on the official website of Election Commission of India revealed that BJP is leading in 47 seats in Haryana while Congress trails with 36 seats.

Former Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda expressed confidence to the media about his party’s chances of winning the Assembly polls, despite early trends showing the BJP surpassing the halfway mark.

He emphasized that Congress will form a majority government in the state, with the Chief Ministerial candidate to be determined by the party leadership.

"Credit goes to the party, Rahul Gandhi, Mallikarjun Kharge, all party leaders and people of Haryana," he added.

As per official trends released by the Election Commission of India, the BJP is leading on 43 seats, Congress on 34 seats, INLD and BSP on one seat each and Independent on 5 seats.

Congress candidate from Julana and wrestler Vinesh Phogat makes an appearance amid people in Jind as counting of votes for Haryana elections is in progress today.

After the ballot counting showing the path to majority mark for Congress in Haryana, as the EVM counting began, BJP has risen.

As per current numbers by NDTV, BJP is leading in 46 seats while Congress stands at 40.

As counting of votes continues in Haryana the Congress and BJP come at a neck-to-neck position with both leading in over 40 seats.

Congress workers burst firecrackers outside AICC headquarters in Delhi as early trends show party headed towards a big victory in Haryana and lead for Congress-National Conference alliance in Jammu and Kashmir.

The vote counting started with ballots and now the EVM counting has also started in Haryana.

As per numbers by NDTV, Congress is leading in 52 seats in Haryana whereas BJP stands at 25.

The BJP candidates Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini and former CM Anil Vij are currently in the lead for their respective seats in Ladwa and Ambala Cantt.

These are according to early trends in vote counting for the elections to Haryana's 90-member Assembly.

According to numbers in NDTV, the morning trends in vote counting of Haryana seats show that Congress is leading in 39 seats whereas the BJP who is already in power are leading in 22 seats.

Congress candidates and Leader of Opposition in Haryana, Bhupinder Hooda is leading in early trends of counting from Rohtak seat.

He is running against BJP candidate Manju Hooda.

Wrestler and Congress candidate Vinesh Phogat is leading in Haryana's Julana seat as the vote counting for the Assembly elections gets underway.

Phogat is making her electoral debut and is facing strong competition from the BJP's Captain Yogesh Bairagi, a former commercial pilot.

The early leads have come in for Haryana Assembly polls, early leads have shown that the BJP ahead in 6 seats and Congress in 3.

The vote counting begins for Haryana and the ballots are being read first. The EVM counting will be done next.

DCP Panchkula Himadri Kaushik said that the Police forces have been deployed at the Kalka Assembly constituency and Panchkula Assembly constituency along with all other necessary preparations.

Police forces are also stationed throughout the city, ready to tackle any situation.

Haryana CM Nayab Singh Saini was confident of BJP winning the polls on the morning of vote counting as he stated, "The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is going to form government with a huge mandate. We along with PM Modi have served Haryana honestly in the last 10 years. Exits polls do come, there were exit polls during Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Uttarakhand elections as well. We are not raising questions over exit polls, but results have been different and in Haryana too it will be like that. BJP will form the government."

AAP candidate from Kalayat seat, Anurag Dhanda speaking to PTI on Tuesday, said, "People of Haryana have given their mandate, and public is supreme in democracy. We will accept the decision of the public. Haryana got a third alternative as AAP contested on all 90 seats and we are confident that people have been fed up of BJP and Congress since long, and we looking for a third alternative. I am sure that people will repose their faith on Arvind Kejriwal and we will see good results on several seats

The 2019 Haryana Assembly election resulted in a hung assembly, with the BJP winning 40 out of 90 seats, falling short of the 46-seat majority.

The Congress secured 31 seats, while Dushyant Chautala's Jannayak Janata Party (JJP) emerged as a kingmaker with 10 seats.

The JJP had separated from the Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) due to family disputes.

After the elections, the BJP formed a coalition government with the JJP. On October 27, 2019, Manohar Lal Khattar was sworn in as Chief Minister, with Dushyant Chautala as Deputy Chief Minister.

Despite initial stability, tensions between the BJP and JJP escalated, leading to the coalition's collapse in early 2024.

Several pollsters revealed their projections for both Jammu and Kashmir and Haryana on October 5, indicating a change in power in Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led Haryana.

Pollster 'Dainik Bhaskar' predicted the Congress getting 44-54 seats and the BJP 15-29 seats in the 90-member Haryana Assembly. The C-Voter-India Today polls gave Congress 50-58 seats and the BJP 20-28 seats in Haryana, while the Republic Bharat-Matrize polls put the Congress tally even higher at 55-62 seats as against the BJP's 18-24.

There were 1031 candidates in the fray, 101 of them were women and some of the prominent among those in fray included -

Among the independent candidates include Savitri Jindal (Hisar), Ranjit Chautala (Rania) and Chitra Sarwara (Ambala Cantt).

The assembly elections for Jammu and Kashmir took place through three phase between September 18, 25 and October 1. This was the first election in 10 years in the union territory since the abrogation of Article 370 in 2014, making it a significant one for the Indian political landscape and the people of the region.
