Drones Target French Warship In Red Sea, Prompting Swift Response

France confirms its naval frigate, the Languedoc, intercepted and neutralized drones originating from Yemen.

In a recent incident, France revealed that one of its warships, the Languedoc, deployed in the Red Sea, was targeted by drones originating from Yemen. The French Ministry of Armies issued a brief statement on Sunday, confirming that both drones were successfully intercepted and shot down by the warship, as reported by AP

The statement did not identify the party responsible for launching the drones at the French Navy frigate on Saturday night. According to the ministry, the drones approached the vessel consecutively, with a two-hour gap between each incident, traveling directly from the direction of Yemen. The interception and destruction of both drones occurred approximately 110 kilometers (70 miles) off the Red Sea port of Al Hudaydah on the Yemeni coast.
