Tremors of a magnitude 5.7 earthquake that hit Afghanistan on Thursday morning were also felt in parts of North India, including Jammu and Kashmir and Delhi.
While the National Center for Seismology in India measured the magnitude of the earthquake in Afghanistan on Thursday at 5.7, the United States Geological Survey (USGS) said it was a 5.4 quake with the epicentre 28 kilometres from Ashkasham.

The National Center for Seismology (NCS) said the earthquake struck at a depth of 255 kilometres.
"EQ of M: 5.7, On: 29/08/2024 11:26:38 IST, Lat: 36.51 N, Long: 71.12 E, Depth: 255 Km, Location: Afghanistan," NCS said in a post on X.
The United States Geological Survey (USGS), meanwhile, measured the magnitude of the earthquake in Afghanistan on Thursday at 5.4 with the epicentre 28 kilometres from Ashkasham.
In October last year, a powerful 6.3 magnitude earthquake followed by strong aftershocks killed dozens of people in western Afghanistan.
The tremors of Thursday's earthquake in Afghanistan were felt by some in Delhi-NCR as well, however, there were no immediate reports of injuries or damages.
Three catastrophic earthquakes struck western Afghanistan, including one 6.3-magnitude on October 7 last year, one 6.3-magnitude on October 11 and an 6.4-Magnitude quake on October 15.
According to UNICEF, almost 1,500 people were reportedly killed in Herat and the surrounding districts in these earthquakes. In the three most affected districts, around 1,50,000 people either completely lost their homes or their homes were severely damaged, as per UNICEF.
