Following a tradition coming from at least the middle of the XVIII century, thousands of people gather every year at midday in Tarazona's main square waiting to throw tomatoes at the Cipotegato character, that represents two characters, one of them, a prisoner from the local jail that was given the chance to escape to freedom after crossing through a crowded village, and the catholic tradition a figure which fights against evil spirits.
