North Korea's Kim Jong Un Calls For War Preparations; Dismisses Top General

North Korean leader Kim Jong Un called for more war preparations ahead of the possibility of war, alongside dismissing his top general.

North Korean leader Kim Jong-Un called for more preparations for the possibility of war, a boost in weapons production and the expansion of military drills reported the North Korean state agency, KCNA. The surprising move was the dismissal of top general Pak Su-il as well.
Kim Jong-Un replaced Chief of General Staff Pak Su-il with General Ri Yong-gil, during a meeting of his party's central military commission. This was reported by KCNA but no further details on this particular decision were offered.
Kim called for more more missile engineers, artillery and other weapons after he visited weapons factories in North Korea. The KCNA report also added that Kim called more military drills to make sure they were combat-ready at all times.
Pyongyang is set to stage a large militia parade on 9th September, marking the 75th anniversary of the Day of the Foundation of the Republic. The nation boasts of a large number of militia and paramilitary forces which complement its regular forces.
Kim visited several major arms factories, less than two weeks after a major military parade which was attended by top foreign officials from Russia and China. After his visits, he spurred on calls for more preparation and war readiness, once again sparking global tensions.
