The 7.8-magnitute earthquake and its strong aftershocks are the latest tragedies to strike Syria that's already battered from over a decade of civil war and terror-related devastation. The Syrian Civil War, now in its 12th year, had already displaced half Syria's pre-war population before the earthquake. Now the earthquake has brought more displacement and homelessness. Over 23,000 people have been killed across Syria and Turkey by the earthquake.
