"Personnel from Joint Base Charleston and @MCASBeaufortSC, in close coordination with local authorities, have located a debris field in Williamsburg County. The US military on Monday found debris from a crashed F-35B fighter jet in South Carolina. This followed a day after seeking public’s help to locate the elusive wreckage. Joint Base Charleston on Sunday had asked people to assist the recovery teams and call the Base Defence Operations Center with any information. The search teams unearthed the wreckage a day later.
The pilot of the F-35B Lightning II jet had, however, safely ejected from the flight on Sunday afternoon.

According to the manufacturer Lockheed Martin the fighter jet’s primary advantages are that it is nearly impossible to track with radar and that it is packed with advanced sensors and other gear.
