Elon Musk requests Taylor Swift to post music on X, Swifties call him ‘desperate

Taylor Swift's fans turn their focus to Elon Musk after the billionaire's request for posting new music on X/Twitter, sparking a surprising Twitter exchange between the pop icon and the Tesla CEO.

Taylor Swift fans have directed their attention toward Elon Musk following the billionaire's tweet urging the pop icon to unveil fresh music on X/Twitter. In response to a post shared by Swift in anticipation of her forthcoming album "1989 (Taylor's Version)," the Tesla CEO made the request.

Swift collaborated with Google to design a series of quizzes that, when answered, would unveil the titles of upcoming songs from her soon-to-be-released album.

She wrote on X that it was a new soundtrack and shared the back covers and vault track titles for 1989 (Taylor’s version). She expressed her excitement for its release, stating that she couldn't wait for it to be out. She also expressed gratitude for everyone who participated in sleuthing, puzzling, and making the reveals so much chaotic fun, which she considered to be the best kind of fun.

In the comments section below, Musk recommended posting some music or concert videos directly on the X platform. Swift's fans responded with derision, with many wondering why the globally famous pop star would consider sharing her music with the website's new feature.

One user commented that the owner of a struggling social media platform seemed eager for one of the biggest musicians on the planet to assist in maintaining its relevance. They also remarked that Elon appeared quite desperate, and this fact was widely recognized.

Another person remarked that Elon Musk was acting as if there was anything Twitter could do for Taylor Swift in terms of exposure and reach that she wasn't already accomplishing on her own.

Podcaster Róisín Ingle wrote that Musk tweeted a recommendation to post some music or concert videos directly on the X platform, without providing a single reason why Swift, one of the most successful musicians on the planet, should consider doing so.

1989 (Taylor’s version) consists of newly recorded renditions of tracks originally featured on Taylor Swift's 2014 album, "1989." This project is an important component of Swift's ongoing project to re-record and reintroduce a significant portion of her earlier discography. The motivation behind this initiative stems from a legal dispute over licensing and royalties with her former producer, Scooter Braun.

The upcoming album will also incorporate extra tracks from Taylor Swift's "Vault," which includes songs penned during the initial recording sessions for the album but did not make it onto the original release.

Musk and Swift have previously interacted on social media. In March, Musk garnered attention for a string of peculiar posts about the artist, in which he lauded her "limbic resonance skill."
