I Slept Great Last Night: Jordan Love on Leading Packers to Ninth Straight Win Over Bears

Jordan Love’s debut is to be remembered as one of the most remarkable ones in the history of the Green Bay Packers. Here is a glimpse of his performance at Soldier Field

Green Bay Packers' official QB1, Jordan Love had a vivid vision – leaving Soldier Field with a triumphant victory. The young quarterback's dreams turned into reality as he led his team to a resounding 38-20 victory over the Chicago Bears, continuing the Packers' dominance in this historic rivalry. This victory marked the ninth consecutive win for the Packers over the Bears and the fifth in a row at Soldier Field.
Love's performance on the field was nothing short of remarkable. He passed for 245 yards and three touchdowns, with no interceptions, earning an impressive 123.2 quarterback rating. According to NFL Research, this debut was even more impressive when compared to the initial outings of Packers legends Aaron Rodgers and Brett Favre against the Bears. Favre suffered a loss and threw for 214 yards, with a 69.0 rating, while Rodgers won his first start and threw for 227 yards, with a 105.8 rating.
Despite a close 10-6 halftime lead, the Packers geared up well in the second half. Love's touchdown passes to Aaron Jones and Romeo Doubs extended their lead to 31-14 early in the third quarter. Rookie backup Sean Clifford closed out the game at QB, allowing Love to savor his triumphant Sunday.
Love said about his debut in this storied rivalry, "It felt good. They're a good team. Obviously, the first half was close, but in the second half, we bounced back and dominated. It just feels good to get a win; you never take that for granted."
The pressure on Love to fill Aaron Rodgers' shoes was substantial, but the 24-year-old quarterback proved his mettle by securing his first NFL victory as a starting QB in a lopsided rivalry.
Packers head coach Matt LaFleur expressed his confidence in Love, stating, "There's a big-time belief in that locker room for Jordan Love. I think the guys are going to rally around him. They're excited for him. They love him, they respect him."
For Love, this game marked a significant step in the right direction as he follows in the footsteps of two all-time greats who have graced the Packers' quarterback position. "Obviously, that was the plan for us, coming in here and starting off the season in the right way," Love reflected. "I thought we did that in all phases."
“I slept great last night,” the player shared after his triumphant vision came true.
With a season opener like this, there's every reason to believe that Jordan Love's future as the Packers' franchise quarterback is bright, and the dreams of Packers fans are well within reach.
