A man with flowing blond locks in Massachusetts stabbed four little girls and laughed while they were watching a movie in a theatre. He then drove away in a Porsche SUV and attacked two more people at a McDonald’s, police and witnesses verified.
Identified as Jared Ravizza, the 26-year-old Porsche-driving man belongs to Martha’s Vineyard. Currently, he is under arrest following a series of brutal stabbings in Massachusetts. The incidents, which occurred on Saturday evening, have left six people injured and Ravizza is facing multiple charges.
Ravizza allegedly wounded four girls at the AMC Braintree 10 movie theater outside Boston. According to Plymouth District Attorney Timothy Cruz, he entered the theater at around 6 p.m. and, suddenly attacked four young girls who were there to watch the movie "IF." The victims, all under 17 years old, including the youngest being a 9-year-old.
“Without saying anything and without any warning, he suddenly attacked and stabbed the four young females,” the Braintree Police Department stated. “The attack appeared to be unprovoked. After the attack, the man ran out of the theater and left in a vehicle.”
Lisa Dembowski told WCVB 5 in Boston that her three daughters and a friend were the victims. "They had just sat down and gotten their concessions," she recounted. "He came up behind them and attacked them while laughing."
“I got a call from my sister that my oldest daughter had called her (and) that I needed to get to the AMC movie theater right away because they had been stabbed,” Dembowski said. “Honestly, I just got in my car and headed right there.”
Dembowski described the incident as told to her by her daughters: “They were the only four people in this movie theatre. They had just sat down. They had just got their concessions. I guess he came up behind them in the row — they were in the second row — and he came up behind them. My oldest was leaned over to get something. He got her in the back and then my other daughter in the top of the chest. Then, my last daughter across her arm — laughing the whole time — and then got their friend and then ran off.”
The injuries were non-fatal but the girls were quickly transported to Boston-area and are being treated. According to people present at the scene, the attacker was wearing an oversized trench coat, sunglasses, and sporting long blond hair, which local reports confirmed to be Ravizza's real hair.
After stabbing the girls at the theater, Ravizza fled in a Porsche SUV, travelled 30 miles to a rest-stop McDonald’s on Route 3 in Plymouth, Massachusetts and attacked two employees. CCTV footage showed Ravizza reaching through the drive-thru window to stab a 29-year-old man, then entering the restaurant to stab a 21-year-old woman. Both victims were also treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
Ravizza was caught by the police when he had a crash in Sandwich, Massachusetts, where he was apprehended and taken to a hospital for treatment. He now faces several charges, including assault with intent to murder and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.
Ravizza is also a suspect in a murder investigation in Deep River, Connecticut. Connecticut State Police had issued an alert earlier on Saturday, describing Ravizza as "armed and dangerous" with a 10-inch knife. Authorities discovered a body in Deep River around 3:30 p.m., potentially linking Ravizza to the crime.
