Circuit Zandvoort, nestled in the picturesque sand dunes near Amsterdam, has a storied past that dates back to the late 1930s. Originally hosting a race around the town's streets, the track's popularity grew after the Second World War, leading to the creation of a permanent circuit. For decades, elite-level motorsport events graced the Netherlands through this iconic venue.
After a hiatus following the 1985 Formula 1 season, the Dutch Grand Prix returned with a new fervor. The resurgence of national hero Max Verstappen fueled the desire to bring the event back to the championship. In 2021, Formula 1 enthusiasts witnessed the long-awaited revival of the Dutch Grand Prix at Circuit Zandvoort after a 36-year absence.
Circuit Zandvoort's layout, while brought up to Formula 1 standards, retained its original charm and character.
