Kansas City Chiefs signed a one-year contract with the Defensive Tackle Chris Jones on Monday.
The General Manager of the Kansas City Chiefs, Brett Veach, while speaking to ESPN commented on the contract, “Chris is an elite player in this league, and over the last seven years, he's really developed into a leader on our team”
He also said, “He's been instrumental to our success and Super Bowl championship runs, and it was a priority for us to keep him in a Chiefs uniform. I'd like to thank Chris and his representation, Michael and Jason Katz, for their desire and patience to get this done. Through this process, two things were obvious: Chris wanted to be a Chief, and the Katz brothers worked diligently on his behalf."
Jones has recently received fine of $50,000 for each day he has missed camp and has also lost a game check. The net worth of the player is said to be $80 million dollars; however, the exact amount is yet to be reported.
Jones is known for his exceptional football skills and on-field performance. He made his debut when he was selected by the Houston Texans in the sixth round of the 2013 NFL Draft.
Fans are keen to know the financial terms between the player and Chiefs. It is still unknown how much Jones will make in a year through this deal and whether the deal will eventually become a long one or will terminate after one year.
Though fans are really happy to see him join the Chiefs and want to see him soon on the field, playing for Kansas.
"It's always been my goal to be a Kansas City Chief for life. I've said that multiple times," Jones said this to multiple reporters at a team charity event at the Ronald McDonald House of Kansas City.
